Two ways to name a community

Grammar generation vs. researched proposal.

Both live on this page. They're different products.

Free · Instant · 20 names
Grammar generation.
Choose an aesthetic and tier, and the engine returns twenty grammatically correct name candidates in the specific structural conventions of American subdivision naming — {Place} {Feature}, The {Feature} at {Place}, {Nature} {Water}, and eleven other templates. Every name is the right shape for a subdivision. None of them know anything about your county.
This is where you audition how a name sounds in your region and aesthetic.

Researched proposal.
Enter your county and zip. The engine pulls your county's founding history, USGS landform records, historical figures, existing nearby developments, and Regrid parcel data. Claude Opus reads all of it and proposes one name that anchors to something specific about your location — with a paragraph explaining exactly why.
The kit contains that name plus ten alternates, each anchoring to a different local reference, plus taglines, streets, amenities, typography, color, monograms, domain availability, and federal trademark indicators.
From a real kit · Marion County, FL
Silverspring Cross
Anchors to the single most recognized natural feature in Marion County — Silver Springs — and uses the British compound suffix 'Cross' (as in Charing Cross, King's Cross) to signal a crossroads settlement rather than a coastal read. The site sits inland at 3019 SE 7th Ave, three miles from the springs themselves, so a -shore or -haven suffix would be a lie the buyer catches on the drive in.
How the engine thinks

Three lenses, evaluated simultaneously.

Every name the engine proposes has to survive all three at once.

Lens 01
Aspirational.
Will residents say “of course it's called that — what else would it be?” ten years in? Names that feel inevitable last. Names that feel marketed don't. Quiet luxury reads quiet; it doesn't announce.
Lens 02
Economic.
Does the name lower cost per qualified lead and shorten absorption? Names that are hard to spell, hard to say aloud, or hard to differentiate from a competing development down the road raise CAC and slow the pace. The best names do part of paid acquisition's job for free.
Lens 03
Spatial.
Does the name survive every context it has to live in? On the stone monument at the entrance. On the recorded plat at the county clerk. On the 36-inch street sign at the back of a cul-de-sac. In a Google search that doesn't surface six other developments first.

        Common questions

What developers ask before they buy.

If yours isn't here, reply to any kit's delivery email.

How long does it take to get my kit?
Kits are delivered by email as a PDF within a few minutes of purchase. The pipeline researches your county's history, runs a federal trademark check, verifies domain availability, and generates the full 14-page brand kit. If something goes wrong on our end, you get a template-fallback version and we manually re-generate.
Can I use the name commercially?
Yes. You own the name and everything in the kit outright — no licensing, no royalties, no attribution required. That said, before you file a plat or order signage, commission a licensed trademark clearance opinion. The kit's federal-database check is a starting point, not clearance.
What if I don't like any of the ten alternates?
Reply to the email your kit came in. We'll re-run the name research with different local anchors or a different aesthetic — no additional charge. If we can't get you a name you'd actually use, we refund.
How is this different from an AI name generator?
An AI name generator combines words. The kit's researched names anchor to specific facts about your county — the 1806 land grant that spanned your parcel, the ghost town three miles south, the founding-era spelling of the creek that runs the property line. The rationale explains exactly why the name was chosen. Grammar-generated names (the free 20 on this page) know the shape of a subdivision name; researched names know your ground.
        Do you check state trademarks?
Not automatically. The kit's Section 11 is a preliminary federal database search only. State trademark registries and common-law marks require a licensed trademark attorney — plan to spend $500–$2,000 for a clearance opinion before you commit capital to signage or plat filings.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes. Scroll up to the tool and click “Or get one AI-researched name” — you'll get a real preview generated against your actual county, plus a paragraph of rationale showing exactly what the paid kit reads like. Same engine, same persona, same research pipeline.
What if my community doesn't fit one of the seven aesthetics?
Pick the closest. The aesthetic sets the vocabulary the engine draws from — British-countryside for old-money-prestige, Modern-minimalist for architectural, Texas-ranch for wide-skies. If your project sits between aesthetics (rural-modern, coastal-luxury), your kit will still land — the researched-name step adjusts. If you want a different direction entirely, note it in the local-inputs and we'll bias the research.
Can I upgrade to a custom brand later?
Yes. The $499 brand-to-market add-on (offered in Section 13 of every kit) delivers three logo concepts as editable vector files, a one-page sales website, and Open Graph image sets. Order it by replying to your kit's delivery email.
Do you help with the physical entrance monument?
Not currently. The kit includes typography, color, and monogram concepts a graphic designer or sign fabricator can build from, but material specifications (stone type, lighting, letter fabrication) require an on-site architect. If we add an entry-monumentation page to future kits, existing buyers will get it for free.
        Who's behind this?
SubdivisionKit.com is built by an independent developer with a background in real-estate marketing and lead generation. Every kit ships as a PDF — no login, no subscription, no dashboard. To reach a human, reply to your kit's delivery email; that address is monitored.
